Yangshao culture: (4500 B.C-2500 B.C) It was named due to its first discovery in 1921 in Yangshao village which located in Mianchi county, Henan province. Most of them were distributed in Henan, Sanxi, Shanxi, south Hebei, east Gansu£¬etc. and Guanzhong, South Hebei, west Henan were the center. It not only inherited but also developed on the basis of Peiligang-cishan culture. Besides, it took artificial molding and the slow wheel neatening technology as the basic technology and fine clay red pottery, gritty red pottery as the primary ceramic texture. There were some gray pottery and black pottery and white pottery also appeared. The ceramic texture was soft and its firing temperature was 900 to 1000 centigrade. Decorated pottery art was the outstanding achievement of Yangshao culture. The pottery was decorated before firing and not liable to shed. It took black as the main color and sometimes red. The main shapes were bowl, earthen bowl, cup, pot, urn, bottle, cauldron, rice steamer, spire bottle and so on. The porcelain was decorated by line pattern, rope pattern, pane pattern and appended stacking pattern etc. |
